The Community Health 1st Workplace Internship Program Includes:

  • Placing current students as paid interns to work onsite with healthcare professionals
  • Focusing on workplace readiness and skill training in students’ core competency studies

Community Health 1st is seeking energetic, dedicated, and responsible nursing, radiology, EMT, communications, journalism, marketing and photography interns to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the mission and vision of Community Health 1st, while developing and applying your skill sets. You will focus on learning how our organization runs.

Intern Objectives:

  • Gain workplace experience in a professional environment
  • Increase needed job skills including workplace readiness
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations
  • Take notes and memos during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files
  • Run general industry related errands
  • Enhance ability to interact with professionals
  • Research and gather documentation on company position in the industry
  • Set up, break down, organize, and maintain conference rooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms; update company calendars
  • Attend company functions and networking events
  • Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks
  • Update and post supervised social media and website content; respond to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails
  • Provide assistance to financially support their college education
  • Increase job opportunities after graduation
  • Direct or re-direct students to choose the best career path

Intern Requirements and Qualifications

  • Enrollment in an appropriate degree path (general healthcare, communications, marketing)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
